Azazael carries a virtually unbreakable golden sword made from the white light of creation.  Much like the fallen angel Satanael, he too wears a ring containing a red stone on his finger that allows him to control the lower vibrational creatures from the hell dimension.

Biography:

Prior to his ascension to the rank of an archangel, Azazael originally belonged to the class of Jinn and was created from smokeless fire.  Much like his brother Satanael, who had risen in position before him, Azazael was also deemed greater than all of the other Jinn.  In his elevated role amongst the angels, Azazael became a leader of the Watchers, a group of archangels that were tasked with overlooking the newly created race of humans inhabiting the Garden of Eden.

For a time, Azazael did as commanded.  However, since he and Satanael still had possession of their free will, something all of the other classes of angels had lacked, they began to question the word of creation.  Whereas Satanael refused to bow before Adam because the human race is vastly inferior to angels or the Jinn, Azazael had developed a lust for power.  Not only did he shun his sacred duties, but he also began to corrupt other Watchers, especially Yeqon.

The time for rebellion came knocking on heaven's door once Satanael had managed to convince many of the Jinn and a contingent of angels to turn against the light.  Unlike those who needed prodding or convincing, Azazael was happy to join any revolt as long as it would allow him the opportunity to finally gain the power that he had craved.  Due to his leadership capacity, and capability as a fine combatant, Azazael was promoted to the role of general within the ranks of the traitorous angels.  With a mighty force of celestial beings amassed, Satanael and his army fought a losing war in heaven.  After their defeat, the one true creator punished his misbehaving children by banishing them to the earth.

While these fallen angels believed their exile was a punishment for their sins, and even though it was, there was much greater importance behind this action than they had realized at first.  Since the one true creator is a benevolent energy filled with only love and compassion, he did not exile his children from paradise out of hate or malice.  Instead, he wanted these fallen angels to enrich their souls through the trials and tribulations the planet would provide, just as he had planned for the flawed human race, he created to be imperfect on purpose.  As the vile actions of the fallen angels had shown, there was a considerable amount that they still needed to learn.

Much like Satanael, the fallen angel Azazael had no intention of improving his soul.  All he craved was power and he would have it at any cost.  Like many of his kind, he forcibly took human women as his consorts.  He also taught men the art of warfare and showed them how to make swords, knives, shields, and coats of armor.  At every turn, he led men into wickedness and impurity.  He even taught a select group the secrets of witchcraft, and these individuals became the Black League.

Throughout the centuries, Azazael had served the fallen angel Satanael well as both a general and trusted confidant.  Since they were both Jinn when created, Satanael favored Azazael above all the others except for Lucifer.  Those two fallen angels received more than any of their brethren had ever hoped to receive in terms of rank or prestige.  Not only was Azazael the supreme commander of the army of the damned, but at one time, he also ruled over the Council of Elders.  Still, no matter how much power he was given, it was never enough and Azazael would not be satisfied until he ruled over the world.

Although small fissures in their friendship would appear from time to time, the cracks in this strong bond began to grow by leaps and bounds as soon as Kismet entered the picture.  Fearful that this chosen one would either replace him as supreme commander of the army of the damned or try to assassinate him in an attempt to gain favor with the one true creator, a nervous Azazael had reached a breaking point.  In secret, he started his own revolt, which led to a civil war among the fallen angels.

A few months ago, Azazael and his forces faced heavy losses when Kismet attacked their secret base located in the Ural Mountains of Siberia.  Aided by Fizzy, Bloody Mary, the imps, Gumdrop, Granny Confection, and Nothingman, this team of enhanced Heathens managed to beat back the wayward fallen angels that were protecting Azazael.  With the majority of those individuals dead and with his remaining forces on the verge of collapse, a defeated Azazael made a cunning escape.  Along with the few remaining members of his Future Kings, they managed to reach an underground magnetic levitation railroad tunnel before Kismet could move in for the kill.  The advanced mode of transport quickly whisked them to a waiting submarine at a decommissioned Russian naval base on the shores of the Arctic Ocean.  From there, Azazael Samyaza, and Mammon made the long trek to the northeastern coast of the United States of America.  They were then met by Daniel Rust, who personally drove them to Gravesend, a town that the man called Lot had already conquered on their behalf.

Currently, many within the Council of Elders believe that Azazael is still hiding somewhere in that town.  Due to his familiarity with the terrain surrounding Gravesend, they sent Kismet and his Heathens to hunt him down.  Not the type of individual to admit defeat, Azazael continues in his efforts to rebuild his shattered force even though his time is running out.
